Brymill Cryotherapy Cleaning & Maintenance
Brymill Cryotherapy Cleaning & Maintenance
- Cleaning
It is recommended that the Brymill
flask is cleaned between patients.
The spray tips should not come into direct contact with the patient, so cross infection risk is low. - Wipe the unit and tip with hospital grade instrument cleaner in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- The tips may be autoclaved, refer to the autoclave unit manufacturer's instructions.
- Wipe the stainless-steel flask and trigger assembly with a dry soft low lint cloth at the end of the day’s procedures and allow to dry out overnight.
Maintenance
- It is recommended that the unit be
serviced on a 12 monthly basis.
Note: It is important to keep your storage of liquid nitrogen clean. Over time moisture in the Dewar can turn to slush or ice crystals and lint & foreign material may accumulate and be transferred into the flask. Before filling the Dewar every second time, swill the last two litres of nitrogen around the bottom and empty it out of doors. Failure to do this may introduce contaminating matter into the flask and stop the regulator & valves from operating properly, leading to leaking or freezing.
